When you are playing mobile slots, there is one thing that you absolutely have to have – a mobile device to play them on! This can come in the form of a mobile phone or a tablet, but regardless of which you choose, it is obviously 100% necessary. As you’ll doubtless know, there are loads of these devices around and that some are better than others, so we are on a mission to find the best! We started with a review of the iPhone 4S, and now we move on to the Samsung Galaxy S3 – which will be better in this showdown between two of the biggest phone manufacturers in the world?
Let’s quickly look at the rules first though. Each phone will be judged on three different criteria. These different criteria are:
- Internet speed.
These are the three most important factors to consider when it comes to seeing how good a mobile phone is for mobile slot playing. Anyway, enough of the chatter – let’s see how good the Samsung Galaxy S3 actually is!
We have started with the internet speed of the Samsung Galaxy S3, simply because this is without doubt its strongest area! This is because this phone uses a new type of standard – without getting too geeky on you, this is called DC-HSPA+, and allows for massive speeds and therefore for apps to be downloaded in the blink of an eye. If you play on the site, instead of downloading apps, it also means that the sites will load really quickly and that there will be no lagging while the reels are spinning their merry dance.
This new standard allows the S3 to download at speeds of up to 5 megabits per second, which trumps the majority of the other phones on the market. On the down side though, this is still not as fast as the iPhone 4, which downloads nearly 50% faster.
It is important to remember that this new standard of internet is not the same as 4G, which is just starting to be released throughout the UK. This will increase the speeds that phones are capable of by huge amounts and we will be the first to let you know how this effects mobile slots users! Until 4G gets popular though, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the leaders in terms of internet speed.
Graphics are really important when it comes to playing mobile slots – they might not change the way that the games are played, or how much you can win, but they make the whole experience so much more fun and visually appealing! When it comes to graphics, the Samsung Galaxy S3 also performs incredibly well, as it has the highest frames per second rate of any phone on the market, according to PhoneArena. It can boast 103 fps, with the second placed iPhone 4S coming in at 73 fps.
The fact that the S3 has a very large screen – measuring 4.8 inches – is a double-edged sword though. On the down side, it means that this extra graphic power needs to be spread over a larger surface, which detracts slightly from the crispness. On the upside though, a larger screen makes for an easier way to play, with the reels becoming simple to watch and all the symbols standing out perfectly. Overall though, we can’t find very much wrong with the graphics on this phone and it gets two thumbs up in this department!
Aside from the iPhone 4S, the only other phone that can stand up to the graphics of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the HTC One, which we will be reviewing very shortly! Make sure you check back soon to read that review as well!
This is an easy section to write. The Samsung Galaxy S3 runs on the Android operating system, which is made by Google and is the most popular OS in the world (the iPhone is the most popular phone, but the Android operating system is used on many more models). Due to this use of Android, every major mobile casino is compatible – they would be mad not to be, thanks to the huge number of people with phones running this OS! So, if you buy a Samsung Galaxy S3, you’ll be able to play pretty much every single mobile slot out there!
In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a fantastic phone for mobile slot players. With great internet speeds and really good graphics, it offers everything you could possibly need. It also isn't prohibitively expensive either, and you can often get them for free when you sign up to a contract with a network supplier. In terms of how it ranks overall, it’s right up there at the top of the table with the iPhone!
